Default Did the post office change their rates/policy?

I been having trouble with the post office lately and I'm not sure why.

Monday I tried to send out a movie priority mail and the guy said my package was too light to be sent priority? WTF?

Then today I tried to send a package from the US to Canada and the guy tried to charge me $19 for postage. WTF? It was only a few dollars in the past, why so much? Does anyone remember how they send they packages to Canada? Was it Air mail? I can't remember.

Can anyone help? I really don't want to go back on a deal because of the post office.

I noticed mine was really expensive today. It would've been about $17 for priority mail, for a season of a TV show (though not a big package or anything). First class ended up being $9 I think, which also seemed really high.

I hate the post office now, but luckily I rarely send anything out through the mail.

Prices for all shipping services have been skyrocket lately. It's getting to the point where it's too expensive to even ship anything.

Wow, I just sent a Blu-ray to somebody on the forum here, and I want to say it was like $1.50 for shipping within the US. He got it in a couple days in good condition. I couldn't complain one bit about it.

mail rates arent scheduled to increase until May I think it is. I think the PO is shipping the most expensive rate possible as I mail stuff daily and the rates are the same

They have rates based on Zones now, so sending it to a neighboring zone will be less than 2 or 3 zones away. It lowered the price for closer addresses but increased it for the longer distance hauls.

Seems like the wrong classification. Quess I should know since I had over a hundred mailings from the US since joining here, including 3 from you.
I have notice this from inexperienced or bad postal clerks. The thing is to know what classification it is mailed in, so when they make a mistake, give them a polite reminder what classification you have always used in the past.
Proper amounts are $1.72, $1.90+ with a little extras like the sealing wrap, inserts, or an extra disc.

Make sense if you ask for for Priority and they give you a 17.50 Flat Rate Express Envelope
