Can you use Bitstream Audophie in the audio setup if you have a optical connection it says to use with hdmi audio connection. Im using it and to me it sound better than Bitstream RE Encode the choice recommened for optical connection. I have the samsaung 1600 it to me the audophie is working with my optical connection my receiver just puts it out as regular dts or dolby 5.1. not true hd 5.1 or dts hd. Anyone else hear use audophie with a optical connection?

Yes, you can use audiophile. You get the lossy DTS core or companion DD 5.1 track instead of lossless, of course. There's also no secondary audio. This is basic bitstream.
Re-encode differs in that it decodes the track, mixes in secondary audio, and re-encodes it as lossy DTS. Ease of operation with secondary audio is the only reason I can see to use this setting. |
