Ron Silver Dies - Blu-ray Forum

Actor and longtime political activist Ron Silver died this morning, succumbing to a long battle with cancer, friends of the liberal Democrat-turned-GOP stalwart told The Post.

"Ron Silver died peacefully in his sleep with his family around him this morning," said Robin Bronk, executive director of the Creative Coalition, which Silver helped create.

"He had been fighting esophageal cancer for two years and his family is making arrangements for a private service."

Great in the films Reversal Of Fortune,Mr. Saturday Night,Timecop,Ali,and Blue Steel, and was a regular on the 70's comedy Rhoda. He will be missed,a very underated actor for sure!

Out of all the great roles he played my two favorite are from TV shows: Chicago Hope and The West Wing.

He was also great in The Arrival. An underated movie that wasn't noticed because it was released the same summer as Independence Day. I thought The Arrival was a better movie. He was a solid actor that was very versitile.

Man, I was so shocked to hear this news! Ron Silver was another one of my favorite actors. Loved him in Timecop, The Arrival, Enemies: A Love Story, and as the psychotic killer in Blue Steel (with Jamie Lee Curtis). You will forever be missed, sir.
