Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs takes the rather short children’s book of the same name and attempts to turn it into a full-fledged animated movie. It seemed to work well-enough for Horton Hears a Who, and the idea of dropping giant pancakes on city hall is on a most basic level even more appealing than an elephant who talks to specs.

The real highlight of the film’s first full trailer though, isn’t a mountain-sized ear of corn rolling across the Great Wall of China. Instead it’s Mr. T voicing a cop named Earl Deveraux who steals scenes with his son Cal.

Sony's newest animated feature to open September 18 this year.

Columbia Pictures' and Sony Pictures Animation's Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs will be the most delicious event since macaroni met cheese. Inspired by Judi and Ron Barrett's beloved children's book, the film focuses on a town where food falls from the sky like rain.

Never heard of the book, movie looks good tho,
and Andy Samberg is the voice of the main character, im there
but "there" as in just a rental

Wow, I actually remember that book, I loved it as a kid! Interesting movie idea...

I loved the book as a kid. Looks like they did an awesome job turning it into a movie, can't wait!

That was Andy Samberg? Awesome! I love his Lonely Island videos! I can't wait to see this movie.
