take a look at this..he was telling the truth...
Ouch! That's hot! Before you start, an important note: The PS3 hardware was designed to sit on a TV set or entertainment center, not on a workbench. It generates a lot of heat which is extracted by a fan that blows out the end of the unit closer to the Blu-Ray drive, as well as out the back. When I first unpacked the unit, I ran it on my workbench next to my laptop with the PS3's fan blowing into the laptop's exhaust vents — the laptop eventually went into thermal shutdown. So I advise you to run the PS3 "standing up" (so the PLAYSTATION 3 text is right-side up; there are feet on the bottom of the unit to assist with this). In this configuration, it seems to run the coolest. http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/library/pa-ps3lab1/ now thats some heat.. ![]() |

More proof that theoretically the 360 will not be able to out perform the PS3.
No way, no sir, no how. <--- to xbot cronies Heat generated by a couple of fans on the PS3 output enough heat to shut down a x86 laptop. Now that's funny! ![]() Also, it is good to know that standing my PS3 upright cools the most efficiently instead of positioning vertically out of necessity for the sake of ergonomics. and to top it all off...
![]() read..ON "they even beat their first projected replacement cycle... -" 05-28-2007, 02:48 AM In fact, considering the amazing pace of technology advances, our very first thoughts on Xbox included the somewhat misguided notion that we might upgrade the system every TWO years. Now wouldn’t that have been disruptive! See, Xbox isn’t about any one specific box. It’s about what it should be about: as sappy as this may sound, Xbox is at its core a commitment to excellence. Bringing people experiences they can’t get anywhere else, connecting them together, enabling creative people to see their visions realized without compromise. Just like Xbox itself. http://blogs.mercurynews.com/aei/200..._the_legacy_of _the_original_xbox.html seems "bolded in red" that microsoft is on track.... ![]() hmm..every (2) years huh.. STARTS OFF....elite, super elite, SUPER DUPER MEGA XBOX360..... if this is Microsoft's cycle replacement..no thank you.. ![]() |
