Default Whats the better choice??

Guys I just bought a sony kdl52v4100 lcd. Than I seen this.

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...9&catid=23527#

the respsonse time is 5ms on the sammy, and the one i bought is only 8ms. Should I switch it out before my 30 days. I haven't been overly impressed with the sony so far. Also I would think that the blacks would be better on the sammy. Thanks. I only have one week left.

Sammy makes an excellent LCD tv. I used to be Sony all the way (5 yrs ago they were on top for TVs with their XBRs). Since then Sammy has caught up and most of the time surpassing Sony in picture quality (but goes back and forth). For the 2 tv's you have indicated, I'm not that familiar with so check the specs/contrast ratios, etc. I think Sammy might come out on top. Just my opinion. I chose a Sammy A650 over any of teh Sony's. (also check CNET.com for reviews)

If I was looking at an LCD (which I'm not), I'd first look at SAMSUNG. I think they make amazing sets and their pricepoint is better as well.

All though this was at Magnolia hi fi and neither tv was calibrated properly. I have to say side by side the sammy had more accurate color and way more detailed blacks.I would go with Sammy on this one.You should be able to get both tv's alot cheaper though.

Sony is better IMAO. They are great TV's and if anything goes wrong, they have amazing customer service. A Sony may be more, but I'll pay more for a great TV with great customer service.

these are very similar TVs I would say that Samsung is prolly only slightly better, Personally though, unless there was a huge difference in price, I wouldn't take back a Sony to get a Samsung, and Vice Versa, unless you were stepping up a model. so like from a sony v series to a 650 sammy or a 550 sammy to a w series sony.... Samsung on like for like, especially on the lower models will give a few more options/features and slightly better PQ. but the features even out as you go up the line of models.

For an A550 sammy I would not worry about it. Now if you upgrade that's a diff story....

Sorry, but the 550 is not an upgrade over the V series, and IMO the V series gets the edge. If you were talking the 650 then that would be different. I would take a Sony XBR7 over a Sammy 650 though even though they are pretty close overall. I would also take a XBR8 over the Sammy 950 if money weren't a factor. Since the price difference is huge I'd give the 950 the nod. For one, I trust the reliability of Sony more than Samsung. Second, Sony's top models always beat out Samsung even if its just by a hair. My one criticism of Sony is that they are very overpriced in comparison, but when you can find deals that put similar models from each brand closer in price I would go with Sony every time.

For the price, you may as well buy this:

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LN52A6...9239363&sr=8-1

Overwhelmingly positive reviews on this one, 4-5 times more than any Sony you'll find on Amazon. In fact, check out any of the LNXXA650 models and you'll see a shit ton of positive reviews.

Not saying Sony is bad by any means, but the Sammy reviews don't lie.

I just went down this rode and chose a Sammy 52A650 over a 52V5100.

I did the same thing when I got my Sammy 650....it's gotten sooo many 5 out of 5 ratings, that I had to get this TV. I sold my old Sony W3000 that was only 18 months old and it had good PQ, but the Sammy is amazing. I am very happy.
