This has got to be one of my favourite movies and for a movie that received such outstanding reviews, I'm somewhat suprpised it hasn't been seen on the BD radar screen.

Does anyone know anymore about a possible BD release for this amazing movie?

Yeah, it's definitely not what you'd hope for. But so far this has been the only version around. Let's hope studio canal gives this film the release it deserves.

I've been holding off buying it as well hoping for a better option to surface.

I just watched this in HD on Cinemax and it looks absolutely terrible. One of the worst HD presentations that I've witnessed. The picture is very soft and lacks fine detail most of the time. I don't know whether it was shot that way or if they DNR'd it to death. Regardless, I doubt it will look any better on the eventual US blu-ray.

Really didappointed to learn about the poor quality. You'd think a major movie like this would have received better treatment. I guess I'll just continue to wait in the hope a good transfer will come along eventually.

Any reviews of the Aussie release? Does it have English subtitles?

Picture quality? Audio? (lossless?)

I hope it is 1080p/24. umbrellaent.com lists runtime as 136 minutes which would indicate "PAL" sped up version. Hopefully that's wrong and the runtime is 141 minutes as it should be.
