Arrow I, Frankenstein-Aaron Eckhart

Quote:
From vampires and werewolves to monsters. Director Patrick Tatopoulos, Underworld co-creator Kevin Grevioux, and Death Ray Films are teaming up to bring the comic book I, Frankenstein to the big screen. Published by Darkstorm, the forthcoming comic brings together various classic monsters, including Frankenstein's Monster, the Invisible Man, Dracula and the Hunchback of Notre Dame, in a contemporary film noir setting. The Monster, for example, has evolved, learned how to control his anger and now acts as a private investigator. Dracula, meanwhile, is a kingpin of crime, and the Invisible Man is a secret operative.

Grevioux, who wrote all of the three Underworld films, will write this adaptation. Tatopoulos, a creature designer who made his directing debut with Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, will direct. Robert Sanchez of IESB and Chris Patton will produce via Death Ray, with Ryan Turek (aka Ryan Rotten) of STYD also co-developing. "It's a Raymond Chandler-esque monster mash where the rogues don't pack pistols, they've got claws and fangs," Turek said. And if you're interested in learning more about this, there's a full interview over at STYD with Kevin Grevioux, with some early details on both the comic and the movie.
Click on the drawing above to read the rest of the article including a link to the full size cover. Sounds like a movie heavy on the popcorn.

New concept art for this is out:

Quote:
Back in April we announced a new project called I, Frankenstein that is being developed by Underworld: Rise of the Lycans director Patrick Tatopoulos and Underworld co-creator Kevin Grevioux. The film is an adaptation of a Dark Horse comic of the same name that brings together various classic monsters, including Frankenstein's Monster, the Invisible Man, Dracula and the Hunchback of Notre Dame, in a contemporary film noir setting. A handful of various websites have unveiled four different concept art images today from the in-development project for your viewing pleasure. Each one features a different monster character.

Monster:
Frankenstein:
Werewolf:
Bride:
Thanks to IESB, ShockTillYouDrop, Bloody-Disgusting, and AICN for debuting these - click on any of them above to see them in high resolution. When compared to the comic book version of I, Frankenstein, there are some differences. These images represent Patrick's vision of the world created by Kevin Grevioux who is currently hard at work on the script for the film. The concept is that these characters are a bit more advance than before, like Frankenstein is a detective, and Dracula is a kingpin of crime, and so on. I'm really digging the concept and these images so far. Looking forward to seeing this develop! Stay tuned for more updates.
So far it's looking pretty gritty

I'm excited because I loved the Underworld Trilogy, especially Evolution. So I have high hopes for this one.

I like the Underworld series, and this look quite similar thanks to the shared Producers. I'm in from what I see so far.

Van Helsing is a guilty pleasure of mine. This kind of looks like a mix of that and Underworld. Love Aaron Eckhart. Certainly doesn't look great though, probably going to have to turn the brain off for this one.

Some great imagery there and could be fun, but I would probably like it about 1000% more if the character wasn't supposed to be "Frankenstein". He could still be a revived, patchwork monster and leave everything the same, but using the name just undermines the story. As it is, people are going to see this and just laugh.

it seems to me, Aaron Eckhart just can't pick a decent movie... and where's Dracula and the Invisible man as it was mentioned in the first post??

It's nice to see Aaron Eckhart starring in an ass-kicking role. Should be entertaining!

I'm divided...

On one hand, it looks and sounds like it has promise from a premise perspective. But, my instinct is telling me that I'll likely leave the theatre feeling extremely unsatisfied... even though I will not have to pay a single penny to see it!

From what I've read the movie is Gargoyles versus I-dunno-what with Bill Nighy playing one of the demons that was cast from Heaven with Satan.

Nothing at all like the premise in the OP. Which is a shame. It still looks rentable but nowhere near as interesting as what was promised.
