Default 1.3 HDMI Flat Panels??

Hi guys and gal,

Does anyone know if there are any flat panels in the market right now that uses 1.3 HDMI? I am looking into purchasing a new flat panel soon. I am still chewing the fat on the debate between LCD vs Plasma. So, it doesn't matter between the two for now.

Thanks!

DO any sets with HDMI 1.3 actually take advantage of any of the HDMI 1.3 features?

Are you positive about that? From what I've read just becasue a device has HDMI 1.3 doesn't mean it will take advantage of what HDMI 1.3 has to offer. The manufacturer can pick and choose what features, if any, it wants to use.
Currently the PS3 doesn't take advanatge of any of the 1.3 features. It will need a firmware update for that. I don't know about the BDP1200.

Cool

My Sammy 1200 is 1.3 but my Pioneer plasma is not, so I'm not getting the advantages of the 1.3 version, correct?

From what I've been reading and from my own experience, 1.3 has a higher bit/rez color and PQ capability but that's assuming your source is taking advantage of it. The pieces of equipment that REALLY need the 1.3 compliance, are receivers. From what I've gathered, because a receiver is a middle man in terms of the signal, it needs to be compliant with the version as well as the HDCP or the signal thinks you're trying to copy and it shuts the signal down going to the display. As far as the displays go, they all have a higher color capacity that what we've been giving them but rez is a different matter and since nothing's higher than 1080p (yet), that side of the 1.3 in kinda moot.

Hmmm.... haven't heard that but again i might be wrong.. i don't see why a manufacturer would make there tv w/ v1.3 and then limit what features it can utilize. as far as the ps3 not taking advantage of 1.3 the new firmware update addressed that by adding the super white option and full rgb color range output via the hdmi connection.

I wasn't aware that those were 1.3 features. It was just implemented in the firmware and would affect lower HDMI versions as well. Nothing specific to HDMI 1.3

the PS3 does do HDMI 1.3 but you won't notice it unless you have a HDMI 1.3 TV

Yes.
The new FP-T6374 from Samsung is a 63" 1080p plasma that was originally scheduled for release in mid-July but has seen some early release here in the states. It's HDMI 1.3 and is a SWEET television (speaking from experience...I own one).
Unfortunately, my theater isn't yet able to take advantage of this to its full potential...I'm running a panasonic DMP-BD10 blu-ray player through a Pioneer VSX-82TXS A/V receiver, neither of which are HDMI 1.3 as yet. I know the PS3 is 1.3 but even if I purchased one to run my blu-ray, I'd still lose that going through my receiver.
Any questions about the Samsung, though, feel free to ask! :-)

What would it be doing. No content can take advantage of Deep color, it is all 8 bit per color. unless it takes advantage of the audio sync. The PS3 also can't pass the advanced audio codecs unenecoded yet, which you need HDMI 1.3 for.
