why arent some of the more popular bds not reviewed on this site?
i just got a new surround sound and i was looking for some audio reviews on some popular movies like sweeney todd and texas chainsaw massacre and tango and cash just to name a few. but when i look at the latest reviews they have movies like "ultimate force" and "winged migration" honestly who cares about movies like that??

Those aren't choices. They're assignments when the studio sends screeners to reviewers. If we don't get a screener for a certain title, it becomes problematic. You can't review something you don't have.

By the way, just because you personally are more interested in Tango and Cash than Winged Migration doesn't mean everyone feels the same way. Had we reviewed T&C but not WM, we could very well have someone complaining about the opposite thing you are. But yeah, the goal is to have reviews up before the release date for all titles. Sometimes we meet the goal. Sometimes we don't.

It's also worth noting that in virtually 100% of the cases where a title hasn't been reviewed, we never received a screener from the studio. This isn't intentional on their part, but is a side effect of rushed production schedules, tight budgets and miscommunication. It's unfortunate, of course, and we do everything we can to ensure that it doesn't happen. However, we can only do so much...

Rest assured, however, that if we get the screener, you'll see a review.

A lot of people care about movies such as Winged Migration and Ultimate Force. The wonderful thing about the film industry is that there is something for absolutely everyone. Some people detest the very films you love and adore just like you probably wouldn't care for some of their favorite movies. There is cinema for everyone in this world my friend.

Well, I doubt many care about Ultimate Force- even Crocop's mom ducked out of that one.

I'm sure some of the reviewers have extensive collections of their own- I would assume that these are sometimes used for reviews as well, are they not? It's just the way that Ben phrased his post made it sound like screeners were it.
