Sons of Anarchy Season 1 Blu-ray Aug 18 - Blu-ray Forum

Received an e-mail from Amazon that Sons of Anarchy is available for preorder.
They did not give a release date.
Looking forward to this release and the new season starting in the fall. Can not replace the Shield but a very good show IMHO.
Anyone else a fan?

TVshowsOnDVD.com posted an article which lead me to find that Amzon.com is now taking Pre-Orders for SOA on Blu-Ray!! I didn't know blu was even going to be an option here so that is fantastic!!

I know I'll pick it up. I was hooked after the first 10 mins of the first episode. Bikers meets The Sopranos kind of deal.

Never thought of bikers meets Soprano's but it is very appropriate.

I never understood that either, ever since episode one it gets compared to the Sopranos. Ok, there is crime and Drea DeMatteo what is the other likeness? They don't drive Escalades, and wear wing tips or grease there hair, and nobody cries to a shrink, i just don't see it. Yes, it's "organized crime" but I see no other likeness, even though SOA is my favorite show on TV. For the people who asked about a release date, since the next season should be starting immediately after Rescue Me completes it's run that puts Season 2 right about early-mid September. And FX usually releases their previous season sets 2 weeks before the start of the new season. So I wouldn't expect this till mid-August most likely. I also have a thread for SOA fans to discuss the show and I will be posting all Season 2 news as I learn it, so keep checking back there and posting your thoughts to get in touch with other fans.

I think it gets compared to Sopranos simply because its a show about the inner workings of an organized crime family. and there are some similarities on how they operate and the violence involved. and you also get some drama outside of that with relationships and marriages so it actually is pretty similar to the Sopranos...

I liked the previews I saw on fx? are they going to keep making seasons of this or is this like a one season deal?

Season 2 starts filming soon, and they are gonna keep it goin as long as Sutter can keep it fresh. If you liked the Shield chances are you'll like this. Sutter was a madman in creating great ideas there and since this is his baby, don't expect that to change. He's also responsible for writing Jigsaw's accident scene in War Zone. I keep a thread goin for fans of the show, so if you wanna learn more about it, and also I'll keep everyone up to date with news for Season 2 than head on over to check it out.

i dont think anything has been annouced yet! but i would love to have it along with the shield!

yea and i wonder how many discs it will be, also i don't think the shield will ever be on blu-ray because of the type of cameras they used but who knows, i don't think i'd double dip anyway i own all 6 seasons on DVD and will buy the final when that comes out, both these are great shows!

Just a rough guess, I'm hoping for an august release. This season of Rescue Me is 22 episodes (so I hear)...starting tonight, btw. And season 2 will pick up around then end of Rescue Me. F/X blus come out before the next season, generally. As I said though, just a guess.
