Default Gaming Mouse (mice) Do You Use em?

I've finally had it with my old Microsoft basic optical mouse and have been looking for a replacement for some time now.

I've seen and read the reviews of the Logitech G9 and it seems it is pretty good. Of course I am worried that the people writing these reviews are solely the people who have extremely positive experience with the item. User reviews aren't exactly a random sample.

So in an attempt to collect more non-random observations I ask, do any of you use high priced gaming mice? Is it sensible to pay more than 50 bucks for one?

You seen the price on Amazon dropped from 73 to 65 recently and I am so tempted to pull the trigger.

And yes I play a lot of games fps and rpgs.

How competitive are you online? I'm usually fine with a decent MS or Logitech mouse. Wouldn't spend more than $20 on one.

I played competitive counter-strike for 7 years. LAN tourneys etc. Logitech MX518 is by far my favorite.

The g5 is essentially the same but you can put weights in it etc. Extra fanciness in my mind.

I also have a huge cloth mousepad. Works perfect with the 518

I'll post a short review once I get it.

Never used a gaming mouse before.
But that probably because most of the time I just played MMO's and you don't really need a gaming mouse for those kind of games! (imo)

When I get CS Source soon I may end up buying one of these. Let's see how the current one I use goes though.

LOL I can try to play on my wifes Wacom tablet, that would be interesting.

I don't use a gaming mouse, and it's not because I'm thrifty; it's just that I haven't found one that fits comfortably in my right hand. I still play UT3 regularly and I do just fine with a Logitech LX6.

I think my limit on a mouse would be ~$40, but to each their own.

Not really a gaming mouse but close. I use the MX Revolution, paid nearly $100 for it a year ago and I don't regret it one bit. If you're spending mass amounts of time sitting at a computer It definitely pays to get a feature rich and comfortable mouse.

I use a Razer Mamba & couldn't be happier. Cost me an arm & a leg but it was worth every penny.

I have a DeathAdder. It was hard getting use to such a high sensitivity.

CS is my favorite game! I've had my MX-518 for a couple years now. I'll replace it when it dies. Best mouse I have ever experienced. A buddy gave me his G9 and G15 keyboard. I hated the feel of the G9 and the G15 didn't top my Logitech Wave keyboard, so I sold both of them

I use a plain ole' logitech lazer mouse and I do just fine with online. The Mamba, however, has had my interest for a while now.

I just use a cheap nothing special about it Dell mouse and have always used stuff like this and just don't see why I would want to put money into a gaming mouse when I do just fine online.

Normally, I use a 360 controller to play games on PC (I'm much more comfortable with a controller than a keyboard). However, I still use the keyboard that came with my Dell XPS 630 computer, and it is accurate if you're playing first-person shooters.
