Question The Cable Guy (Jim Carrey) -- Discussion

So for long this has been a seriously divided movie and often credited with "destroying" Jim Carrey. With that in mind I pose the simple question:

Do you consider yourself a fan of the movie The Cable Guy?

I have always liked Jim Carrey and enjoyed this movie. Granted it wasn't as strong as Ace or Dumb & Dumber but it still had it's really funny moments.

Thoughts?

Please, no Blue Collar Comedy Tour discussion.

Cable Guy is JAM, not something I liked or disliked. You watch it and don't really feel anything afterwards.

Actually, I really liked The Cable Guy. It is one of my favorite Jim Carrey movies. I thought it was one of Carrey's stronger acting performances. All of Carrey's little nuances with his lisp were hilarious and he did a great job of acting like a nut case.

I really enjoy this movie and watch parts of it on tv all the time. pretty underrated.

the ongoing Menendez brothers parody news story about the child actors killing their parents and overall social commentary was good as well

vintage JC....So many great quoteables.

Jim Carry and Will Farrell are two comedians you either love or hate.

I happened to love them both, they are goofballs like me.

I didn't like this movie when I was 14 and it first came out but I really like it now. The last time I saw it I'd been drinking so maybe that helped.

Hey my lisp is gone.

You bathstard.

I've always liked this movie and it gets better each time I watch it. Dumb & Dumber remains my favorite Carrey movie but this is high up there too. I think people/critics expected another zany Jim Carrey movie and were turned off by the dark nature which just makes it all the better. Matthew Broderick is probably the weakest part.

Love it... probably my favorite Jim Carrey movie... "There were no utensils but there was Pepsi?" "I think it was an Asian gang... I heard someone, he looked... Asian... they were speaking another language... I'm pretty sure it was... Asian!" would love to see it on Blu since the old DVD looks pretty shoddy...

wow this movie ruined Jim Carrey? Really? I thought it was when he tried to go the serious route with Truman Show and The Majestic.

The Cable Guy is a personal classic. The entire scene where he's playing basketball with the fellas still has me in stitches everytime I see it.

I really like this movie but I can see why people don't like it, it's got such dark humor and people are used to Jim being the hero rather than a psycho.
