Australia Twilight on Blu-ray has Dolby Digital not TrueHD!!!!!!!

Hey guys,

This is Mainly for aussies and THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR TWILIGHT FANS!!!!!!!!!.

I recently bought Twilight on Blu-Ray on the Wednesday, brought it home, put it in my PS3 with my setup (check my Avator!!!!), now here comes the interesting part, on the Packaging it clearly states "Dolby TrueHD" as shown on the attachments here, but unfortunately when I played the movie and checked the information area, it says otherwise, it says that it's in Dolby Digital and my AMP as always shows it up as PCM cause it decodes it, I double checked the other Audio Settings to see if it was in a different Audio selection, I went back into the Pop Up Menu and it's the same, the menu has Dolby 5.1 it doesnt say TrueHD!!!!!!,

Now I know my sound setup very well, and I know my PS3 decodes it into PCM when you have selected it into both the AV Setttings and Movie Settings on the PS3 and YES I HAVE DONE THAT!!!! (So if I hear moaning from people that its supposed to be in PCM on my Amplifier, DERRR I KNOW THAT!!!!!) and then I have double checked by using Cyberlink Player on my computer as I also have a Blu-Ray player on my computer and NO, it seems the DISC HAS BEEN MASTERED WITH ONLY DOLBY DIGITAL WHILE THE PACKET CLEARLY STATES THE DISC IS TRUEHD!!!!!!.

I have double checked with JB Hi-Fi where i have bought the dsic from and IT IS TRUE!!!!!!, the disc is Mastered with Dobly Digital NOT TRUEHD on the packaging at all!!!!, This is a prime example of False Advertising and Worse, the whole thing with the Fifth Element seems to be rearing its head around again!!!!.

And to make matters even worse, the US Blu-Ray of Twilight they get DTS-HD Master, and us Aussies we have the crappy Dolby Digital WHAT THE HELL!!!!!.

So everyone who has a copy of "Twilight" double check if you're copy is the same as mine and a couple of others like mine and reply back here please to re-confirm from what it seems to be a Major Misjustice for Twilight fans in Australia!!!!!!!.

Your's Sincerley and Absolutly Crushed.

A Twilight and Blu-Ray Fan.

P.S If anyone says that i'm lying well prove me wrong please from Australia!!!!!!!

Did you check for alternate audio options from the BD's main menu?

Did you click the audio button a few times on your PS3 remote?

I'm sure you did, but I figured I should mention this anyway.

If this is missing the True HD audio track, then shame, shame, shame on SONY.

Default I have checked the Alternate

I have checked the different audio languages and checked in the menu, and yeh, its not there.

I'm deciding to keep the disc to prove a point to them!!!.

How long would it take for them to call for the Disc Exchange Program???

I can also confirm that Twilight does not have Dolby TrueHD, only DD 5.1
There's also a weird problem with subtitles on this disc, they get cut off at the bottom of the screen.

Using a Sony BDP-S550.

Does the Aussie release contain many subtitles, I am wondering if it has Finnish subtitles? Have any others had theire subtitles cut off at the bottom?

Was expecting the packaging to say Warner on it as that's something they do, but as it's Sony I'm surprised.

What bitrate does the PS3 show when it's playing? If it is truly only DD5.1 it'll show around 640kbps . If if shows shomething like 4.2mbps then it'll be playing TrueHD but not showing it .

it only shows as 640kbps its a shame that we continue to get screwed over here in australia. unfortunately i cant find my receipt to take it back.. we should all send a email to sony and get them for false advertising....

well emailed sony and got this

Good afternoon,

There was an error on the artwork of the slick for Twilight. Our authoring house is currently having a new master created with the following:

• add a PCM 5.1 audio stream - this is an uncompressed audio format (as well as the existing 5.1 Dolby Digital)

Should you wish to return or exchange your copy of Twilight you will need to approach the store from where you purchased the DVD.

As their contract of sale is with us we can arrange for one of the new discs to be sent out to them for you to collect. Again should you wish to return it and obtain a refund then you will need to speak with the store in question as your contract of sale and return is with them.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

With thanks,
Customer Service Team

Sony did the same for the Dutch blu-ray release of The Da Vinci Code. English Dolby Digital 5.1 and French Dolby TrueHD 5.1 and they're NOT going to release a new master.
