Just went a little nuts and ordered 9 blu's off amazon. Instead of ordering directly though them, I explored the "NEW/USED" link, and found new versions of the movies I wanted sold by private sellers, and ordered them all this way, saving about 40 bucks off amazon retails price. Just wondering if others do this?...and/or you've ever been burned by a private seller. I have e feeling I may not be getting what I think I ordered, but maybe I'm just paranoid.

I ordered Jeff Dunham's Spark of Insanity through them, and didn't have any problems. Though that was only one movie. I always look at the seller's reputation and feedback. If you feel that person is "sketchy", go with someone else. I do the exact same thing on ebay, and I always get my items with 0 problems and 0 hassle.

I've probably ordered 30 or so items from private sellers over the last year or so and everything has been exactly as described and perfectly satisfactory. I do have a strict criteria of a 97% feedback rating or greater for my vendors, so I am somewhat hedging my bets on the transactions.
If you can handle the slightly slower shipping speeds I doubt there are many better places to pick up bargains. |

I haven't had any issues with getting movies from the marketplace, but have gotten screwed over on textbooks 3 times now (they never showed up.) The one nice thing is that you can always work things through with Amazon to get a refund if there's an issue. I've heard that Amazon is getting more strict with their marketplace vendors because of they don't like having to refund people's money.
Like the other two people said, check the seller's feedback rating. I also check to see why they got negative ratings, because I've seen a few people lately leave a really negative rating when they meant to leave a good one, or giving bad ratings for really silly things. If I see anyone's complained about not receiving goods, I won't purchase from that seller, no matter how good the price is. |

I buy about 3 blus a week through Amazon marketplace. I have had a couple of problems, but they have all been resolved nicely. I'm very confident about odering on there. Normally it only takes 3-4 days to recieve the order, once in a while longer, but all in all I am very satisfied with the service I've recieved on there.

I've done it with OOP computer games and have had ZERO issue - but as others have said, feedback rating and number of feedbacks is important - I use 95% or above and search out the bad feedback to see what the issue was
