As of 5/1/09 the following disks have been unavailable. I do not understand why the industry is printing every new movie that hits the theaters, no matter how bad they did in the box office. I have been waiting for more then a year now for the industry to reprint these titles

First, there's a limit of what you can sell right now to blu ray user
Second, Economy is down the drain, people spend more carefully Third , most Catalog title sales TANK! even Xmen didn't sell that well This is NOT helping to cause right now... |

Not that it helps your cause, but I have seen a couple of these titles sitting on the shelves at Best Buy. I hit Best Buy every Tuesday, for obvious reasons, and I always scan the Blu-ray titles just in case there is a nugget sitting there.

i dont know if i follow, none of those were ever in print to begin with. It takes time to get old releases out, i dont want them to be rushed as i want the best quality releases possible. And if you want the format to proliferate then every new release has to be released on blu no matter how poor the title.

Alright crybaby, its time for your nap. All these popular titles will eventually go blu. Most of the members of these forums have requested their "wants" and they pretty much got what they wanted (including me). Just sit back and be loyal like a good little pup

Where did you get your information from?
Days of Thunder and The Fifth Element are available now and the majority of your list has been announced as coming in the near future most of them this year, but have not been released yet. Next time do a little research on this site and not Amazon. |

I agree with all of this. What they need to do is pick a few KEY titles to release and them take the time to do them well. Gladiator and LOTR are the type of movies that will make people run out and buy a player.

Canadian Release by Alliance Atlantis. If you are in Canada, you can get it. Quote:
There's two releases. The first version was said to be horrible quality and it was remastered. Most likely the version you have listed is the original release. Not out. Ok, OP, check the database of Blu-Ray releases here on Blu-Ray.com. It's more reliable than Amazon. |

The thing is they can't just release the stuff everyone wants at once. First all of because it WOULD boost sales but only at first. Once everyone got all the titles they wanted, sales would drop again and then the less popular titles released afterwards wouldn't sell as well. These people involved with the release of blu-rays know(usually) what they are doing and I am very hopeful all those huge titles that we want so much will be worth the wait.

What is taking James Cameron so long to get TITANIC on Blu. I want that movie more than any other except LOTR.

To the OP - something has to first be IN print, in order for it to go OUT of print. Be patient, all the popular titles are coming. But it's unrealistic, and unreasonable, to expect it all to happen overnight. You gotta remember that blu-ray is still an incredibly young format, and we're just now starting to get dozens of new titles each week. The floodgates are beginning to open, and by this time next year I wouldn't be surprised if at least half of your list wasn't released on Blu. Last edited by benricci; 05-27-2009 at 08:46 PM. |
