Default Suggestions for a first time lcd buyer.

I have enough money to finally buy HDTV. I wanna spend around $1,800 and get at least a 46in screen.

I was thinking about getting the Samsung LN46B650 from amazon. The reviews from amazon seem positive so far.

Is this a good choice?

If someone has a better recommendation for me please let me know, although i would like the tv to have that cool smoothing motion effect if possible.

Yes that TV would be a good choice, It is generally noted around here that you cannot go wrong with a Samsung or Sony for an LCD. You should be able to purchase with confidence and enjoy what you get, don't forget to check out the calibration settings thread once your TV arrives, OR go buy the Digital Video Essentials disc at BB to calibrate.

Also look into this for calibration!

And this thread has a discussion of this product.

Samsung 6 series or better (You are looking at the 650 ), any size- and you're golden. I'm not familiar with Sony, but it sounds like they share the top spot.

I also have zero experience with Plasma so I'll keep my mouth shut on that.

The only main difference i could find is that the LN46B650 has 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, while the LN52A750 has only 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.

I would love to have a 52 incher, but does the 46in look way better since it has that extra 50k dynamic contrast ratio?

I didn't find that many differences between the 7 and 6 series.(Something about wireless yada yada- options that didn't effect PQ) You might find a larger 6 series for the same amount...

Sammy 650 52" for $1900

And as always - have you considered a projector? <-- Upgrading soon.
