Default How is the recorded BD media quality as of today?

I understand the BD-R is still new but I was wondering if anyone compiled any reports regarding the quality of the media. Which brands/makes are better for media? Longevity of the data?

I plan to use BD-Rs in the future as a means to backup valuable data. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I know that longitivity of a Blu-ray movie is around 15 years.
