I just wanted to throw this out there-why do you like living in the area that you do?
I really love living in West Michigan. Great cities like Detoit and Chicago are only a couple hours away and the close proximity to Lake Michigan beaches and lakeshore towns from South Haven, Holland and Grand Haven let us enjoy quick fun family getaways. Any thoughts? ![]() |

I like living in Iowa because it is so mellow. There is no traffic jams of any sort, the crime rate is low, and the cost of living is low. I know some people would complain there isn't much to do (which there isn't) but I've lived here my whole life and couldn't imagine leaving. If I want to go someplace bigger I'm within 5 hours to Minneapolis and Chicago. Chicago is my favorite city to visit but I can't even imagine living there with it's traffic. I know some people in Chicago who have a 2 hour commute to work everyday. I couldn't do that for one day, much less a lifetime.

I almost moved to Kansas- lived there for a year south of KC in a little town called Fort Scott. I really liked it there but the situation just didn't work out. Lived in Nevada across the border too (didn't like that so much). Liked Pittsburgh to the south as well.
I actually would rather move back to Indianapolis. I liked it a lot more than Milwaukee. I do like the house styles in this part of the country though- for instance in Florida you get a lot of flats with tile floors everywhere to dissipate the heat. My house has so much more character. Love my home- would like to transplant it to Indianapolis as I love that city. Perfect size, newer buildings and outlying areas, and overall just realistically what I'm used to as I grew up near there. |

Sometimes I think about moving out to northern CA, because the few times I've been out there I've really liked it. I wish I could get San Francisco, mainly the weather, somewhere else that wasn't so expensive. I grew up with lots of snow in the winter (and by winter I mean October through April), and though I always wanted to live somewhere with 4 seasons, but now I don't care. If I want to see snow, I can live somewhere where there is snow a few hours away, but it's not worth the aggravation of dealing with it every day for 5 months. I also like the idea of being 3 hours behind the east coast. Part of me hopes I could find a way to never adapt to pacific time, and live the rest of my life feeling like I wake up at 11am est to go to work, and go to bed at 3am, when it's really [obviously] 8am and midnight. |

I like Dallas, Tx because if you were to lose your job, the economy is pretty strong here and jobs are around, and I,m from Oklahoma so going back home is just a few hours away, and a lot of shops here to spend the green.
Bad point is we do have some bad air days. |

How about Visalia or Bakersfield area? Just be sure to include the Bay Area with the north and I'm good to go.

You like living near detroit? I figured the further away the better ![]() I completely hate central michigan and michigan in general. I hate snow, I hate any weather under 70, I hate our economy, and most of all I hate all the really ghetto people that live around certain parts of my town. It also seems like there are alot of shoddy people who live here... or maybe I just encounter the wrong people sometimes? |

No pun intended for Santa Cruz I'm sure. I love the Bay Area, yeah the traffic can be a mother effer and the cost of living is ridiculous. I love the weather, activities, being able to go to the beach is only 30 minutes away. I can hit the now during the winter. I really don't think I'd want to live anywhere else. |

Lancaster, PA. That's right, the home of the horse and buggies...LOL! But don't let that fool you. It is actually a small to mid sized city actually, and I live right outside it. A lot of agriculture of course, but the city is a perfect size with modern amenities thus creating a good mix to enjoy the best of both worlds. Philly is just a little under 2 hrs away, Baltimore and the Inner Harbor is less than 1 hr, Hershey (that's right, the city that makes the chocolate bar) is 45 minutes away and Harrisburg is a little under 1 hr away. I grew up in Philly and enjoy the much more laid back attitude here. I can't stand traffic conjestion and can't imagine how I ever put up with it. I also like to ride my Harley to many scenic areas here. I only lived here for 4 years, but I lived in many places and I feel this is the nicest area to raise my family.

i live in central WI, pretty much the exact center fo the state. Minneapolis, Green Bay, Madison, and Milwaukee are all about the same distance away from where i live so if i need the "big city" experience, it's only a couple hours drive away.
my entire family (except an aunt & uncle and their 3 kids) all live within 20 min. of where i live. the summers are great, winters are cold but u get used to it. i'm an outdoorsman (when i get time) so i enjoy fishing and hunting, both of which are excellent in my area. big thing is family though. |
