4 DVD have announced the UK DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of Trainspotting and Shallow Grave Special Editions on 1st June 2009.
Trainspotting boasts a new specially commissioned 40 minute feature with director Danny Boyle, producer Andrew Macdonald, screen writer John Hodge and stars Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle, Ewen Bremner and Kelly Macdonald. Shallow Grave features an exclusive new commentary from director Danny Boyle and the never-before-seen documentary ‘Digging Your Own Grave’ shot during the making of the film in 1995. I wonder how TRAINSPOTTING will compare in image/sound quality to the Japanese import. I've read some negative reviews of the import but it looks pretty darn good on my big screen! Not perfect, I see some minor artifacts but it's superior to any 8 gig version ever released. If this edition is better than it's worth the double-dip...and I've never seen SHALLOW GRAVE so looks like a blind-buy for me anyway

Review for Shallow Grave. Says it has PCM 2.0 soundtrack. No mention of the region code or the codec used but I assume it is the same as Trainspotting (AVC and Region Locked). |
