In a brief announcement on its website, Eidos' development studio in Montreal says it is working on a sequel for the stealth-action series Thief.

The official website for Thief 4 is now open, although it offers no clues about the game than a logo, pictured right. Eidos Montreal says Thief 4 is in the early stages of development.

"It's too early for us to offer any specific game details, right now we are focused on recruiting the very best talent to join the core team at the studio and help us make, what we believe will be one of the most exciting games on the market," says Stephane D'Astous, the general manager for Eidos Montreal, in a statement on their website.

The first three Thief games have garnered widespread critical praise for its stealth mechanics. The last game, Thief: Deadly Shadows, appeared on PC and the original Xbox in 2004.

i loved the one that was on xbox .. hopefully the next gen will do it a lot of justice ..
