Default How much will Terminator Salvation make opening weekend?

There's three wide releases this week that could really eat into Terminator's take. Look for Night at the Museum 2 to bring in the family money. Also Terminator opens Thursday which could hurt it's weekend (specially if word of mouth is not good).

As it stands Night at the Museum 2 is getting better reviews than T4. So here's what's opening. How much do you think they'll do and how will the top 5 stack up this weekend?

I was looking for the official number. Where did you find it? How many? I'm also looking for Museum 2's screen number.

Thanks!

I voted 60 to 70 cause everyone wants to see what John Conners is up to played by christian bale, I don't think bad reviews will stop this juggernaut cause it brings in the action, sci-fi & terminator crowds.

I'm going & giving this salvation a chance, summer movies seems slim pickings. Either that or summer tv re-runs.

Ok way wrong. T4 may be on top, but I am really think Night at the Museum 2 will do better. It is a family film on Memorial Day weekend and the first film was a juggernaut. Your lineup is ridiculous. There is NO WAY Star Trek and Angels and Demons will occupy those spaces. Look for something more like this:
1 T4 or NATM2
2 T4 or NATM2
3 A&D or ST
4 A&D or ST

Dance Flick will bomb and given that A&D word of mouth is terrible it too will fall steeply. Star Trek has great word of mouth so it may stay strong.

You really have NATM2 finishing 4th? I've always been surprised at how popular of a movie it seemed to be, and wouldn't be completely surprised if it finished #1, and even less surprised if it finishes 2nd. It should definitely have no problem going over A&D, and who knows how much Star Trek will hold up for another week.

I'm thinking it'll be a good weekend for the box office.

Terminator will end up with 75 million
Night at the Museum with 60 million
Angels and Demons with 26 million
Star Trek with 19 million
Dance Flick with 18 million

Dance Flick will have the usual idiot "I Love Me Some Scary Movie Type Crap" crowd coming out for it.

Star Trek will fall a bit but remain in the top 3.

A&D will fall.

T4 should do ok.

Doesn't opening weekend include Monday since it's a holiday weekend, and therefore the announced total will actually be 4 days?

Regardless, there's no question the top 2 movies will be Terminator and Night at the Museum. I don't think Dance Flick will bomb, I'd guess it will make around $12-15 million, which is decent for a movie with it's budget.

Going to say between $50 and $60 due to competition and pretty poor reviews, so... $57 million.

I don't have a lot of faith in NATM2 because I hated the first one. It will probably do good though.

Forgot about that movie lol.

1. T4
2. NATM2
3. Dance Flick
4. ST

i'm going with Terminator bringing in $90million+ for the holiday weekend, including Monday

but NatM2 is in about 4,000 locations (more than terminator), so it could take a big chunk of change from it and star trek (and maybe to a certain extent Wolverine) could take some of its key audience away, then theres the whole opening on thursday thing

so those things could bring it down to about 80million

regardless of the opening weekend though, i think this movie is going to make some serious bank

i'm gonna say it, if wolverine can earn over 80 million bucks its opening weekend, i bet you that salvation makes over 100 million....this is the movie a lot of terminator fans have been waiting for (the whole war concept is tight), the action looks insane, and they've advertised the hell out of it, plus Christian Bale is kinda popular now

The thing that will cause Night at the Museum to not beat Terminator is a lot of its tickets will be kids ones, which are generally less expensive.
