Wow, 300 Euros. I was gonna pay, but that's a lot of scratch.

Really hoping that this finnish movie hits theaters april 4, 2012. I liked team's previous project (Star Wreck) really much.

As a side note, this thread should be moved to International sub-forum.

Some hauls over on this forum indicate this is only $10 at Best Buy?

Yeah it was incorrectly tagged as 9.99 so I was able to get it for 4.99 after U&S

I just saw the Dutch steelbook in the shop today. It's really awesome and no picture can do it justice. I'm not really fond of steelbox packaging but this one is so cool.

It's just the "retail" release that was 10$ at Best Buy, not this rather massive Collector's Edition that cost 300 Euros

The trailer for this movie was incredible. Please tell me it's good and the PQ is solid.

I thought the PQ was pretty good for what it was. As for the movie, I had a fun time. I watched it 3 times since I got it. It's one of those, it's bad but an enjoyable bad. Have a couple drinks when you watch it and it's even better. I always support experimental, independent films like this. It was worth getting and now owning.

I thought the movie was enjoyable. I couldn't take my eyes off of the lead girl - what a cutie - but the story was interesting, the effects were well-done (there's a lot of CGI but it doesn't look fake - think SKY CAPTAIN & THE WORLD OF TOMORROW) and at the end I didn't have a "F--k, I just wasted 90 minutes of my time" look on my face as I do with most DTV movies.

She was pretty cute wasn't she? Didn't you like the Press Secretary or the President? *rhetorical questions*

Yes, she looked very good - especially during the second half of the film. As far as the film goes I do not think I've ever seen anything that over the top as far plot / story goes. With that said I liked it .

Is the US version verifiable Region A & B? Says so on the release page, albeit by one contributor, but there are no other reliable sources that says otherwise.

I see Japan is releasing a 110 minute "director's cut" in 2 days. I still haven't seen the movie, but am real curious about this. Too bad it's typically expensive. Don't usually buy for packaging, but it also looks super-cool, the regular editon, not the overcluttered deluxe edition. (edit: release pushed back to August 28)

Unfortunately, the Japanese Director's Cut blu doesn't have English subs. I hadn't seen the movie, so I didn't realize something like a third of it is in German. However, that didn't prevent me from getting the basic gist of what's going on. Probably we will see a more English friendly Director's cut release soon enough. This one does have a lot of good extras in English that aren't on the regular US release, but I wouldn't buy it for that alone.

I have the non-Director's cut and very little of it is in German. Looking at the specs on the Japanese release of the Director's cut, the audio tracks are listed as being English, not Japanese or German.

I guess my point is I don't know why you'd need English subs to enjoy the movie.

The Director's Cut is being released in North America on Mar. 11. In a steelbook!

edit: Steelbook looks to be the same as the UK steelbook.

There's a reasonable amount of German spoken in the movie, in a few scenes, which does require English subs.
