Need advice on blu-ray setup with amp

I need some advice from an expert. I have a panasonic Sc-ht900 (see: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SCHT900.PDF) and I am thinking of getting a sony BDP-S350.

I also have a HDTV but want to make use of my surround sound system still, what is the best way to pipe sound from the s350 to the ht900? Via Digital Audio Output: Optical on the S350 to the ht-900 optical in?

And I assume turn off the HDMI audio on the tv?

Id try using a optical cable from ur 350 to ur 900 in and use hdmi for the picture directly to the tv assuming u can seperate outputs of audio/video in the 350 i.e. under setting in the 350 set video to hdmi and sound to optical
