Angry Miramax titles - WTF?

I'm getting very fed up w/the lack of Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill 1+2,Fight Club, and Sin City on Blu-ray. I mean are these studios in it to make money or not? They want to feed us some more movies like Scorpion King and Meet the Spartans. I don't understand the logic. I guess they want to give us a monthly crap sandwich of Blu-ray movies. The bun is movies like: The Other Boleyn Girl and CJ7 with the meat being their 1 monthly movie that's good ;There Will Be Blood. Crap on the outside and material of substance in the middle. If they want to make money release the movies that people want. Not these "B" movies from their back catalogue. WTF? Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill 1+2, Sin City, Fight Club, American History X,Jackie Brown,........ There are thousands of movies that would make money if they did a good-great remaster for BD. Yet, all we have to look forward to are movies like The Other Boleyn Girl. At least Natural Born Killers is comming out soon. Send this thread to The Weinstein company and Miramax. WTF? You hear me? Maybe by the year 2020 we'll have Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill. That's if the format can sustain itself on these crap movies. Anyone know what I'm saying? On another note, why are there still BD-25's comming out? Yes they still might look decent but, think how much better they'd be w/25 more gigs of space. You picking up what I'm laying down?

I guess that is your opinion. I think there have been some great releases. I would definitely want those movies on your list but studios cant put their entire catalog out imediately. Patience my friend. Patience.

Rough morning? Have a look at July 29th. There are some decent catalog titles releasing that day to hold you over. I'm getting four of them.

vick... i just needed to read the first line in your thread. All you need to know is that the replication factories are going over 100% pumpin out discs. There's a long wait. All of those movies will come to blu by the end of next year. I know. I know. That's too long. But Patience is a virtue. Love what you have now, so that when these come out you can love them too.

I hear ya.....the faster they throw the older releases onto the new format, the faster we'll buy them and bring in more revenue. No-one knows...i guess they like to keep us suffering.

I want all those movies to, however, why would a studio spend a lot of money encoding and releasing a movie that has already sold a lot of copies on DVD. The limited 100,000 max copies that these titles would sell in the short term (1 year) is not finacially smart right now.

You said it yourself, those Catalogue movies would make money as long as they do a great transfer. So they;re taking the time needed on some big name catalogue titles, and thats why you have to wait.

Also, some Catalogue titles wont be released until 1) the userbase gets bigger or 2) a sequel comes out or 3) some anniversary of the movie arrives. Any 3 of these will boost sales of that particular movie. Catalogue movies dont sell quite as well as new releases, and thats why studios focus on new releases first.

You're not the only person that wants some great older movies. But you dont hear us *****ing and starting multiple threads.

They should replicate on a selling scale meaning, print 100,000 copies once they sell print more. That way it's not as big of a financial risk. I accidentally posted in the wrong forum and I don't have the power to delete one of my threads. Also I watched Sunshine, and that was the worst movie I've seen in a long time. Worst ending that made the movie pointless. Similar to No Country yet, worse so, don't lecture me. What about Rambo 3? No anniversary there. Was there anniversary for The Professionals? No. Just another waste of space movie. Why should they wait until the userbase gets bigger? Blu-ray might not gain as much support as DVD. They might as well make some money on these older titles while they still can. I'm positive that a Star Wars Blu-ray would outsell any BD to date, and I'm sure it'd be up there with any dvd release.

I agree that a lot of weak titles have been coming out but they are also smart in doing this. I see countless people buying these said crap movies just to add it to their list of owned movies. I have yet to see a good review of 28 days of night but the masses ran out to buy it. The movie tanked at the movies but people bought it up on blu since it was new. To me they are not as dumb as people make them out to be. Just for the record the movie mentioned was just an example.

They really must be stupid if they think releasing Meet the Spartans instead of masterpieces like Kill Bill and City is a good idea. They really need to hurry up on those two titles, and stop releasing crap.

Patience. Time will come.

It won't be by 2020. I cannot tell you when, but be ready and you will be surprised. It is possible within 4 years from now.

Four years for an Award winning film? It's already out they just need to transfer it. How are other movies that were just in theatres out in 4 months yet, catalogue titles that just need a polish take 5 years?

Because the movies that were out 4 months ago do not need/or very little polishing.

My name's Paul.... and this is between y'all.......

Seriously man.... you obviously don't have much of a grasp on the studio's business model, or market saturation, etc... I would never claim to know it all, but you're just angry because movies "you" find good aren't out...... And obviously movies that were just in theaters, regardless of their success, will be the next in line for Blu-Ray/DVD...... there are still movies out on VHS that have never been released on DVD.......

you like those movies..... we get it..... now just be patient.
