Exclamation Good Night and Good Luck on PS3

After searching for this issue on the web, it seems that there is a problem accessing the menu on the PS3.

Once the menu comes up, the cursor keys do not work, nor do any of the other keys on the PS3 BD remote.

Anyone else stumble upon this?

Bogdan

I haven't had this problem at all. What update do you have?

I'm running the latest... 2.1

I've googled this and I'm not the only one with a PS3 having this issue...

For example: http://community.eu.playstation.com/...ad.php?t=81474

Yup. It just happened to me today. I moved the batteries around a little bit, it worked for a while, then it did it again. Put new batteries in and viola! Problem fixed. I was running on low batteries for a long time. I figured it was just low battery power...

Well, in my case it's the pop-up menu in the movie that has a problem... the remote batteries work well. Any other movie has no problem, except for this one.

Yes, there seems to be an issue. Check out the review of the film on this site. You can still access the features. You just need to do it manually with the audio and title keys on your remote.

Yeah! Thanks for spotting that. That's exactly what's going on.

I thought the movie was very good.

But, keep in mind that it is NOT an action movie, nor is it a comedy. It is basically a pseudo-documentary, showing a slice of American history, and it's shot entirely in black and white.

Definitely not for everyone (especially if you are trying to quit smoking ).

Thanks for the tip. It's nice to know, now that I'm on my third copy of this disc. Now, I can finally access the features (after having replaced the first two, in vain, because of the menu situation). This last disc came directly from Warner Home Video. But I think I'll write the company a follow-up letter about the pervasive PS3 issue; I'm not sure the situation's clear to them.
