Italy Good Night & Good Luck: Fox/Italy

If anyone is interested in a "better" version of the film...

http://www.dvdweb.it/index.mv?123824...a_DVD+031722BD

Released by Mediafilm. DTS-HD. I'm sure it probably has a better encode as well.

Better be sure of the coding, if you're not region-free. It's listed as "2-Europe".

They always list that as a precaution. Remember...there is no Region 2 with Blu-ray. It would be "B." And, hell, even those that are sometimes listed as B will play in A.

The only way to be sure is to get an Italian in here, which s what I'm hoping for.

I wish somebody would do a group buy for this one...

Never seen it but I heard great things about the directing....

I was thinking of doing it, especially with the buy 2 get 1 free. We'd probably save a good deal. The only problem is, I don't want to be the one who's blamed if it's region locked or PAL only.

Your picture indicates region B.

At any rate, I will be in Italy in less than 3 weeks. I can report on it when I get back, if I see it. Of course, if it says region B on the case, I will not be buying it. And it won't satisfy your desire to buy it now while the sale is going on.

I think Pro-B will back me up when I say region-coding of overseas catalog titles is highly dependent on the releasing company and worldwide licensing rights, so it's not a foregone conclusion that catalog titles are always region-free.

Yeah it definitely says Region B on the case. I might bite since I have the LG200. I did some searching and read that it blows away the Region A release. Ours is BD-25, VC1 (HD DVD encode) with lossy sound.
This is BD-50, VC1 (high bitrate) and DTS HD Master.

I was thinking of doing a group buy from italy to save on some of the moolah.

With the LG200, I'd be all over this! I've been eyeing the Momitsu region-free BD player, but need more info on it before I commit. I'm definitely a region-free guy!

Did anybody ever get this? Can they confirm it's a BD-50, English DTS-HD MA and has the extras?

Yes.

A VC-1 transfer, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track, extras (have not compared them) and I do believe the disc is also BD-50.
