Lion's Gate version is coming out on 8/3.

Ours has lossy sound, BD25 and an HD DVD encode. Hopefully this will be BD50 and lossless...with higher bitrate.

I saw a post here with artwork of an Italian disc that was supposedly BD-50 and awesome tech specs, but it was Reion B...I wonder if it ever materialized?

Still no official specs, but the cover has a DTS HD MA logo on it, and all recent Lionsgate films in the UK have had lossless audio I believe, so I'd say the chances are good that the audio (at least) will be better than the US release.

What other titles have come out by them?

I'll need to check some of mine to see if they are region free.

Lionsgate UK have released quite a bit of the US content, so things like 3:10 to Yuma, Bank Job, War, etc but also some titles that were distributed but other companies in the US, The Eye, Thick As Thieves, S Darko, Passengers, Contract, I've Loved You So Long, etc.

My copy turned up yesterday. BD25 with DTS HD MA, but its Region B only. My copy of the Cleaner also arrived and that is also region locked.

It's a bit disappointing that it's only a BD25 (like the US edition) but at least it has a lossless audio track. What extras does this UK edition have? And can you comment on the picture and sound quality?

It has a commentary track by George Clooney and Grant Heslov, a featurette and a photo gallery according to the back of the box. Haven't checked out the disk yet or compared the quality to the US release.

I haven't. I forgot it was coming out when I was ordering these. I'll check it out in the shops tomorrow (I imagine it will be identical specs to the other releases from Lionsgate that came out the same day, so BD25 and DTS HD MA).

Thanks for the info. It doesn't sound like an improvement over the US release as far as the extras are concerned. I'll probably stick with the US one, as a lossless audio track doesn't seem all that vital on a dialogue-based film like this. I'd still be interested to hear what you think if you compare the quality to the US one though.

Thus far, it looks like the Italian one might be the one to beat, considering it was on a BD-50. The question is whether the extra space would make a difference? I dont' know anyone with that version.
