Australia The Rock Aussie Blu-ray

Hi there everyone!

My first post, so forgive me if this has ben asked before, but does anyone know if the Australian BluRay release of Michael Bay's The Rock is cut? The regular DVD is R18+ but the Blu is now MA15+. I tried checking the Australian classification website, but there's nothing there.

Any help would be awesome

I reckon it just got a reclassification.

According to EzyDVD, it's 136mins long, so I don't think it's cut.

Thanks heaps. My local WOW Sight and Sound has it in their special TWO FOR $50 bunch, so it might grab it with The Marine -- shameful, I know.

Double check if the AUS BD contains Michael Bay commentary track as it was mentioned in the cover art of the UK BD but was missing in the disc which forced me to grab the U.S version.

Pretty sure that it only features trailer, making of, stunts and premiere at The Rock. I thought the commentary was only for the Criterion DVD Edition -- which is awesome.

I only asked about it because the initial DVD release of The Rock (in 1999) was a horrid flipper version (which needed changing halfway through the Marines underwater sequence) and was from a British master and was more cut than the slightly softer Australian theatrical and VHS version. I'm worried if I buy the BD version I'm gonna get a pristine, crystal clear version of that edition.

Looks like its a Buena Vista release, it should be OK. I know the Aussie Face/Off, which is a Beuna Vista release was uncut while the UK one was still cut. I had the original Face/Off dvd which was ALSO a flipper - boy those did suck.

Furthermore, EzyDVD lists the running time as 136 mins. This matches the time on IMDB, I think you should be safe.

I repeat.. The audio commentary is present in the U.S BD and missing in the U.K / E.U BDs. I think AUSSIE BD might have got the shaft too.

AFAIK, there's no commentary on any release besides the US version.
