Smile The Aussie Blu Ray Thread

Hello all, I'm new here (assuming you are reading this within a week of me posting this otherwise this will be redundant) and I couldn't see an Australian Blu Ray thread so I decided to start one. Here us Aussies can talk about Blu Ray movies we have, post reviews, new releases and generally chat with other Aussie's who are under the blu ray spell or are considering buying said machine and related products. (Blu ray fans from other countries are obviously welcome to post )

Gday mate, I,m from Perth and am into blu ray. I have the Panny bd10 which is great but shame its not all region blu ray. Have asked if anyone knows if there is a way of making it all region or region A but no takers yet.
So how are you finding things?

John

Not much of a range to pick from at my local dvd store (JB Hi-Fi seems to be the only place here with anything decent) i've only got Hostel at the moment, been looking everywhere for Casino Royale but it's sold out. I only just got my PS3 and 40" Bravia TV, so i'm going to expand my blu ray collection over the weekend, geez my wallets sure getting a work out. What movies do u have?

One of you Aussies must maintain the Oz BD releases. If you're smart enough, get an Oz BD review site going. Do it early and consistently, your site will get recognition from the studios. And that means free discs.

There has been a more generic discussion about this, at the moment no decisions or outcomes.

I would have a look on amazon or cduniverse, stay away from Fox (region encoded) By the sound of it you have only just started buying Blu-ray. I had a JB in Melbourne that although limited range of titles was well stocked. I went back there today for the first time since the PS3 was released. There were 3 disc's for sale! Have a look at this link http://joshd2012.googlepages.com/ provided by Josh one of the moderators here.

Have no fear Oz is well represented here.

I have been collecting titles for a couple of months before the PS3 came out and now have about 35 titles a mix from Aus and O/S especially when Amazon had their half price sale on. Casino Royale is the latest title and it looks VERY nice.

Yes I agree we need MORE titles 20 - 30 is crazy, luckilly there are a number available from the US.
