Default Question about RCA RTD315 Home Theatre System

Hey guys,

I have been searching for a home theatre system for my room for a while and have come across this one:

http://www.1800customersupport.com/p...454&p=79&sc=26

for only $79.99 at an XSCargo Store (in Toronto). I plan on picking it up tomorrow, however I was wondering how exactly it is set up. Does anyone here have this set?

Here is the manual:

http://www.1800customersupport.com/p...CA_English.pdf

It comes with an upconverting DVD player, I have a PS3 but XSCargo also sells the RTD215 set for the same price, no DVD player...

Anyways, after looking at the manual, It doesn't say how to hook up the DVD player to the speakers, I assume all sound input goes into the subwoofer, which then sends it to the speakers, but does the subwoofer have Optical or Digital Audio or is it only analog?

It would suck to be able to watch DVDs in 5.1 Dolby Digital Audio but be stuck with a 5.1 "Simulated" Audio when watching blu-rays...

Any help is a appreciated!

ok nevermind, i was swaying towards the Logitech X-540 over this system, but then i realized theres no point in spending $90 for a "surround sound" system that won't be giving me surround sound!

now i will have to wait a while, but will be saving up for (most likely) the RCA RT2770. Its listed at XSCargo.com for $119.99 (so is the RT2870, but the RTD315 and 215 were supposedly the same price but the 315 was $99) and does not have a DVD player but has a receiver unit which has one Optical Digital Input jack and another Digital Coaxial Input jack, so I should have no problem getting true 5.1 surround sound with my PS3 for my games, Blu-rays, DVDs and CDs!

im happy that I finally found an affordable system that has optical input!

but i will have to wait a while longer...

if you can check your local craigslist....and try to find the Logitech Z-680 http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=183 you can find one around $100 and it much better then RCA system. Good Luck!
