India/Bollywood Lage Raho Munna Bhai BD Review

LET DOWN: The AQ is pretty decent even though it is a lossy DD. I am not impressed with the PQ. It lacks detail and washed out, however an upgrade from the standard DVD. It looks like an upconverted DVD print.

I hope EROS follows authoring standards set by Ayngaran, otherwise the Bolly BD market is going to fizzle out.

There is a major lip sync error.

Weren't you the one who justified the $25 price tag saying it made business sense and screamed the rest of us were from other planets for suggesting a lower price??Guess you learnt the hard way!
(couldnt resist that )

I had suggested pricing these discs closer to $15. But from what you say it appears $5 would be more justifiable!! Sad indeed...

I think that was slsperson1 who was justifying the higher price tag. I agree with you that on dvd like quality I wouldn't even spend $5 on them. Hopefully my favorite movies like Love aaj Kal, Jab we met etc. will be released with a high quality transfer and better price or blu-rays from bollywood will be doomed from the start. I'm now feeling pessimistic about future releases coming out of bollywood.

Ha ha ha .. I am just laughing my head off at all those who actually thought Ero$ would do a decent BR port of these movies. They havent figured out DVDs fully yet and we expect them to deal with HD? Yet the sad thing is that the desi people out there who dont know much about HD will think the PQ and AQ of these BRs are simply mind blowing and will encourage Ero$ to come out with more junk.

Now let see how YRF messes up BR ..

I agree with you. Eros and YRF think BD is just another medium they need to put their poorly re-mastered, VCD quality, sh&t on ...to milk some suckers out of their money!
If they had some inkling of sense then they would outsource their BD authoring, at least their most popular titles, to an international company that specializes in restoration and re-mastering. That would do justice to their catalogue ... and to the folks forking out $25 for the discs!

Cmon man. Dont rub it in. I thought they will maintain the same standards applied for OSM and Heyy Babyy, but this is an utter disappointment. They have these cheesy 480i EROS intro on the blu ray. Cmon EROS. You cant be so cheap. It has to do with the BD authoring. They should have gone with Prasad Labs. Those guys knew what they were doing. Utter disappointment.
