sub problem

i bought a replacement driver for an old sealed sub. well i think the amp blew no sound out of it. can i use my pre and 3 ch amp to power the sub the sub only has rca in without a crossover or binding post. hook rca from sub out on pre to a ch on amp then speaker wire from amp to driver itself
