Default When Star Wars comes to Blu-ray: original theatrical or Special Edition release?

I'm younger, so I didn't see Star Wars until not so long ago. I watched the 2004 DVDs and thought they were fantastic movies. But just recently, I went on YouTube and saw they changed a lot of things. They replaced some holograph characters with more recognizable recent characters, and replaced some scenes of Jabba the Hut with a CGI Jabba. I think they may have enhanced the space battle scenes as well.

After discovering this, I felt very disappointed that I didn't watch the originals for the first time.

Which Star Wars should we get on Blu?

How about both versions with seamless branching?!

Where's the option for "both"?

I would like to be able to see both versions (I preferred the original, but didn't hate the revision). I'm not holding my breath though.

Yeah, I'd like both whenever possible. Hopefully they'll provide both for these.

I'm probably the oldest one on here. I still will respect the option of both versions for the Star Wars noobs.
With that being said.
Personally, I want the original theatrical presentations as I saw them in the theatres. Non of this Episode 4 crap!

2004 version... updated for continuity with I-III, and better effects (re-shot explosions with more correct physics look so much better than models getting blown up and catching on fire; and in ep.IV theatricals, you can see "stars" disappear behind the model pedestals. Why it's such a crime to fix stuff like that, I will never understand). Theatrical cuts make nostalgics happy, but frankly, retouches are necessary... god, the terrible sound recording on ep.IV makes me grind my teeth.

Seamless branching hurts nobody, that would be the best way to go.

Sorry I'm too much into CGI so I'm going for the CGI upgraded versions. But of course remastered for true Full HD. And I still think that the Clone Wars should be among the extra stuff and not on a stand alone Bluray

I say both/all versions. They were able to do it on DVD, so they should be able to do it on Blu-ray.

I want originals.

I was doing 'okay' with the CGI updates until that fateful shot of Haiden Christensen (however it's spelt) at the end. OMG, someone should use CGI to take that guy out of ALL star wars movies.

He's that terrible of an actor.

Ruined all the more recent 'episodes' for me big time (well, him and Jar Jar, to be fair). Didn't even feel like Star Wars in the movies he was in.

I could live with seamless branching; however.

Gotta agree with this! If I could only have one version of each, it would be the CGI as long as they take Hayden OUT of VI. I've seen every one in the theaters during their release weeks, so I would also like to have the originals, from a nostalgia perspective. I'd have to check, but I think I have at least 2, and maybe 3 versions of IV-VI on VHS. They've been in storage so long I forget.

You need an option for both. I would want both, but if I HAD to choose, I would go with the rereleased versions.
