Default Soooo I Went To Best Buy Yesterday....

and had my print out of comparable sales from Wal Mart of Blu Ray prices. I have four titles, Planet Earth, Brams Dracula, FF2 and The New Imax joint Blue Planet. So I go to the register and I give my print outs to the guy with the movies and he starts to do his thing and then I saw his eyes light up like a Christmas tree! The Best Buy Price for Planet Earth is 99.99 and Wal Mart has it for $66! He called the manager to do the authorization. Yea I know, this isn't funny but you had to have been there... it was a classic expression "holy crap"!! All in all what would have cost me well over $200 bucks, I walked away with all titles at $140 and some change.

Where do you live where Best Buy sell it at $54? Or was it a comp sale?

I'm a union worker no one hates walmart more than we do but stealing even from a crooked company is stealing!

What's nice about this is how many times I've been to Best Buy and actually paid more than the suggested retail price lately. I'd say if I add up how many times they've actually asked more than the suggested retail price, I will have paid about $40 extra... Well all that became ok when this horribly rude employee forgot to ring up a season of Family Guy recently... well she didn't really forget, she rang it up, then voided it for whatever reason, and then put it in our bag. I still don't know how she managed to that. But I figure I've earned it after them screwing me over repeatedly on TV's (3 lemons from them, each a different manufacture, it's fantastic!). If I told you all my wonderful experiences at stores and how I've been treated, we'd be here all day. But the way I see it, sometimes it's justified to get a freeby every once in a while.

Although I won't defend it as something completely ethical....he picked merchandise, the store stated a required price to buy it, and he paid for it. Not quite stealing in my book. He didn't tell them how much to charge. If the store had overcharged him by mistake would that be stealing? No, just a mistake. Buyer and seller beware.

price mistakes are fine as long as both were on the reciept. But if they forgot to scan one it is unethical. I mean I am total slick dealer where I feast on price mistakes and the like but I pay for everything I recieve.

They match more than just those two stores, I can't quite remember the list that came up as he was doing his thing, but it was about ten of them... WalMart, Target, Circuit City, FRYS and a few others I cant recall. But I do know that they don't honor sales from discount websites, like if you are surfing and ran across some site called um... "DVD Champ" and they were selling it for $29.00, DVD Champ is a web based operation and not a physical retail store so they wont honor it.

I don't know why he would act all surprised about the price. Maybe he just doesn't know that he could have gotten those same 4 movies for even less with his employee discount.

its nots stealing if thats what they sell it to you for, whether they made a mistake or not. Call me a criminal if you want (I dont care), but I would do it every time. I cant stand people who judge everyone.
