PS3 beeping noise - Blu-ray Forum

Is there any particular reason why my PS3 will randomly beep? Its not really a big issue but when the player is off (has the red light on) I occasionally hear a beep.

Does it appear to be counting down? If so throw it out before it hits 0:00:00 or else kablooey for the living room.

Then again it might just be something else.

Well, i know why it does that. the PS3 is horny for more BD films. when it beeps while its off, that means it needs more BD discs.

SUCH ADDICTION. but i don't blame it, its for the cause.

I'm a newbie here lokus but maybe I can help you understand whats going on with your PS3.
When you hear that random beep sound Your System has Went into Mating ritual mode.....

Is it telling you to go out and kill all the people who 'done you wrong'? It may have '666' in the serial number! Oh sweet Jebus, it dun be da debble! Oh lawdy!

Seriously though, I've never had that happen with mine unless it wasn't shut down properly. Use the controller to access the menu for shut down. Don't shut it down using the button on the front because depending how long you hold it down, it goes into a re-start or stand-by mode and inbetween re-booting, you'll hear it beep once or twice. If the system freezes up, you wont have much choice than to use the button on the unit but any other time, use the controller to access that shut-off option.

Actually, I was embarrassed to mention this before but since we're on this subject... Sometimes I have to get up at 3:30 in the morning to pee and I swear that bugger is smiling at me... and it winks. The kinda smile and wink that suggests your PS3 knows something you don't think it knows... but it DOES, man! How does it know about my twisted porn addiction? I keep it in another room, but it knows, man... it knows!!!!!!!!!!!!! What? Yes master, I will obey... I will play more Resistance now and keep my mouth shut... yes, alright master... everyone: I was wrong. My PS3 is fine I was being silly and paranoid. It is my friend. Goodbye...

turn the switch off in the back so that its completely shut off and then flip that back switch back on because i heard mine beep before when i tried turning it off too soon and then whenever i do that the beeping stops
