PS3 SLIM Noise - Blu-ray Forum

I have a PS3 slim now, and I notice it is making noises now! The will be an obvious heavy clunk noise and not a little clink. This noise is only when the bluray drive working and not from the harddrive. I don’t get any pauses from moves or games. This noise is loud enough to make you look up and think W.T.F is that.

Does anyone else with the PS3 slim notice this noise?

I take that part back, it does it either way, with the bluray drive or the harddrive

call it in..cause a noisy ps3 slim is an oxymoron.. just doesnt happen

No, I don't have that. If anything, while playing games or watching movies, my slim is even quieter than my 60GB. The only thing that's noisier in the slim, is when ejecting or inserting discs.

No problems here - I just bought my PS3 (slim one) about 2 wks ago and its actually very quiet.

I just got one for christmas not a peep out of it very quite.

Just did a internet search and some say it has to do with the plastic expanding from the heat, but when I hear it, my PS3 hasn't been on long enough to cause that kinda of heat.

I think I will call it in.

I bought mine about two months ago and this noise started about 1 1/2 weeks ago.

I called customer service and they was going to send me a box to return and take a look at it and fix/replace.

I didn't do it because it works, just makes that noise every once in awhile.

If the problem continues for more then 10 months or close to my year, I will send it in. I asked and they said ok to my decision to wait for any serious problems from it.

I hate when I buy something brand new and a problem occurs, then send it in and they replace with a refurb.
