Default Finally playing GoW for the first time + my first Blu-ray.com poll

Well, technically, I played GoW 1 for about 5 minutes 6 months ago.

Anyway, back when I bought my PS3, the first thing I did (off a recommendation) was pick up God of War 1 and 2. With GoW coming on the PSP soon, I thought I should play the series so far.

I'm about an hour in, just whacked Medusa, and it's a fun game. We'll see how the rest goes and GoW 2, but I'm getting excited for more GoW.

I'm restless as hell. March is going to be a good game month.

I do indeed love cheese.

I playe GoW2 for about 3 hours once. Seemed good enough. Especially coming to the PS3 a little later in the game which I think gave them good time to maximize the ability of the PS3. I'll be buying it for PS3 when it comes out

I've beaten God of War 1 on God difficulty.
Beaten God of War 2 on Titan difficulty.

I have God of War: Chains of Olympus on pre-order waiting for me next week.

And eventually will get God of War 3 in 2009 whenever Sony get around to finishing it.

Played only the first, and for no more than an hour. Will definitely be getting the PS3 version when it finally shows up.

Played the second but not the first, so yes I like cheese.

It was a fun game, but I hate the PS2 graphics. I rented Resident Evil 4 since it got all sorts of rave reviews, I took it back after about 30 minutes of playing it. That is the last PS2 game I'll play.

I do look forward to GoW 3 and I'm eager to try RE5 when that comes out.

Yeah, I was too tired to complete the poll.

I can't wait to see what GoW looks like on the PS3.

GoW is a pretty fun game. I like the mini games while fighting and figuring out how to beat the bosses. What I don't like is the platforming and puzzles in the game. Have the same problem with ninja gaiden. Well, the platforming is fun but I hate the puzzles. I wanna play fighting games for fighting, not for thinking. If I want to think i'll go play a puzzle game.

GOW is probably the finest piece of gaming i've played. I'm well into story type games and this fits the bill 150%. Its not too hard and not too easy.

I don't understand how you can play part 3 without playing the originals, thats like watching LOTR Return of the King without ever watching the prequels

The first GOW literally renewed my faith in gaming. I had played a bunch of mediocre games and was losing all interest in gaming. A friend gave me a copy of GOW 1 and said "You must play this." The title and cover had kinda put me off, thinking it was another game with tons of blood for the sake of blood. But what the heck, it was a free game, so I gave it a shot. I found myself playing it constantly, with a huge smile on my face about how awesome stuff was, and how the game just kept getting more and more awesome. Even my GF, who isn't really a gamer, would stop and watch me play and say "Wow." After that, my interest in games was renewed, and I started recommending the game to anyone who had a PS2. I've already got my PSP one on preorder, and was one of the lucky ones who got the PSP demo back in the summer.

Thats funny you mentioned that. I would play the game and people would come over, and literally tell me not to stop becuase it was an enjoyable enough game to watch.

Its like a movie. Awesome pacing and the scenary changes enough to hold interest for people that are simply watching.

Yeah, I never owned a ps2, but own a ps3. I don't really have time to pick up the originals, but when GOW3 comes out, I'll pick it up that week.... well depending on what games I'm playing or not. If I'm still playing HAZE or FFXIII or Killzone 2 or MGS4 or LittleBigPlanet, I might have to wait a little while longer before buying. But who knows, I could have some free time by then. I love my ps3 (though none of those games are out yet, they will be quality titles).

If you're waiting to play those games, why not pick up 1 and 2? Or does your PS3 not have backwards compatibility? If so, I understand why...

Dont expect GOW3 until Summer/Fall of 09'

The only game you could still be playing may be FF13 since I'm pretty sure thats not coming out until early next year.

LBP also could keep interest due to the overwhelming possibilities that custom design could offer.

Hmm, I'm the opposite. I'm a thinker.

I like how there are some "little" puzzles in the game and how it's not just a straight button masher.

I LOVED God of War, first and second. I think the second improved on the interface a bit, and cleaned up some other minor issues, but I enjoyed the plot in the first one a little better. I can't wait for the third one!
