Default canadian blurays suck

The french and english covers are just plain gross. When they add french the the covers the artwork is ruined. I have nothing against french people I just hate the messed up artwork. The writing on the spine is so small you can't read it.I bet this is why 2001 is delayed in canada so they can make english/french cover artwork. WE always end up with the canadian version of the US version

That's funny, I often try and forget that Quebecers are from Quebec too. It saves me from being prejudice.

I very much appreciate when studios go the extra mile and release with dual sided covers. It's such a rarity though.

I can't even tell you how upsetting it is to look at my row of simpsons DVD sets and have some spines simply say the simpsons, and others say that and les simpson as well.

Agreed--but I'll be getting the Canadian version of the first Harry Potter movie, because it has the correct title. The original name of the book (and movie) is "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone", not "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone".

I have no idea why our friends in the US changed its title. *Shrug*

Because the word philosophy might actually inspire some sort of deep thought, which would force the U.S. government (a.k.a. Big Brother) to spend millions in countermanding... or worse, cut educational funding even further so that the younger generations wouldn't be able to understand the concept of 'Philosophy'.

Sorry... a little off topic rant.

French version of The Simpsons is pretty good when translated in quebec. The french translation from France is really less funny. I personnaly like to have french on my Blu-Ray Discs, even if I watch a lot of movies in the original english soundtrack. I suppose I'm the only one because I'm from Quebec and I understand that someone who speaks english only don't care about the french version

Most of my Blu ray's have been ordered from amazon.com so I don't have to worry about the french translation messing up the covers. One movie on my shelf stands out like a sore thumb though. I bought the Canadian version of Click on Blu (awesome ebay deal) and the spine reads "Click" & "Clic" in big bold letters.

Because almost no one in the US, especially children had any idea of what the Philosopher's Stone was, and so they figured Sorceror would be less confusing.

If they could go back and change it now they would.

Quebec even has "Watch a movie dubbed in French Day". Frankly I like what Paramount did (only Canadian BDs I have) where they just put a sticker that says "french included" on it.
