Default PS3 Hard Drive Format Problem

I bought this hard drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822149058
and installed it into my PS3 correctly. Its a 160 gb. I did a quick format on it and check the system info on my PS3 to see how much space I had left. Its says "free space 130 / 149" I don't get it, do I have 130 or 149 gb? I know the PS3 usually takes like 20. I even did the full format which took nine hours and it still shows the same thing. Is there something wrong?

SONY usage is 1 gb = 2 to the power 30 which is 1,073,741,824 bytes. Hard drive manufacturers define 1GB=1,000,000,000 bytes. 149 times 2^30 = 159,987,531,776 bytes. So the 149 gb is the full drive size, and the 130 is the free space of the drive. There is nothing wrong.

Anyone know what the reserved space (19GB in this case) is for? Caching games that don't have a permanent install option? Persistant storage for future Blu-ray movies?
