Default Simpsons audio problem?

Got a strange problem here. Playing Simpsons Blu ray on PS3, and the only english track is the DTS-HD 5.1. Well from my understanding the PS3 does'nt decode dts-hd, and I'm not getting any sound. I'm going straight to the TV and not using a receiver. The spanish track works fine as it is DD 5.1. Any suggestions on how I can get this to work?

What's your connection cable to the TV?

The PS3 plays DTS tracks fine as 1.5 Mb/s DTS audio so check your settings and the way your equipment is connected

You may want to change your input to PCM as well to let the player decode as I don't think TV's have DTS decoding capabilities...

Two things: make sure you have the latest firmware (easy with the PS3 since you have internet connectivity), I believe 2.10 is out; and let the console do the audio decoding (see Clayton's post). If you're still having problems, post an update and I'm sure more will come to your aide.

Yeah, ummm, it's not Fox's fault that TV's don't decode DTS. But it's nice for you to chime in with your negative attitude instead of helping solve the problem.

But yes, like Spike says, make sure the firmware is upgraded and let the player do the decoding as the TV can't (at least that's my assumtion) decode DTS.

I just got done watching the movie on my ps3, it worked just fine. Sound and picture. No problems. Run the ps3 into your receiver and then into your tv and see if that works, should be fine.

I fixed this problem by resetting my Samsung player. I "think" that it might have been some sort of HDMI issue. Worked like a charm. Great sound and picture. My Harmony had an RF hiccup and that might have cause some sort of HDMI issue when the order of device on/off.

What kind of set-up do you have (Reciever/Blu-ray player)?

It's not a negative attitude, rather its called the truth. You will continue to see these problems with fox titles. And it wont be long before you have to be perpetually hooked up online to recieve a key from fox to play their movies.

Once again it is not Fox's fault that the TV cannot decode the audio. Fox is releasing some very advanced Blu-ray's, they are ahead of what we can do with the players. Give them a break, or go red.

I love Fox and have never had a problem with ANYTHING they do.

There's nothing wrong with Fox. DTS is better sounding and I applaud Fox for putting high quality tracks on their movies. It's the user that usually has the problem, not the distributor.

No it is a negative attitude since there was nothing wrong with the disc. The only problem was with how the person had their settings. And once that is fixed the movie will work just fine.

I was wondering what would happen if someone tried to listen to a Fox title without a DTS decoder. I guess you have to let the blu-ray hardware decode it for you?
