Default HD DVD Studios & Buyers - Should The BDA Offer A Settlement Package?

The Warner move has sent shockwaves through the high def industry; Blu now dominates again

Bring yourself down to earth though, we have not yet won. Paramount still exclusively supports HD DVD. Universal still excluisvely supports HD DVD. Dreamworks still excluisvely supports HD DVD. The independent reminent still support HD DVD to a greater or less degree. The HD DVD camp can't win but they can sink us in a format war that drags on and on and on.

So what can be done? First and foremost we need to mend relations amongst the consumers. We need to get early adopters and high def adopters behind blu. So what could be offered? I propose:-
- Warner to offer a HD DVD > Blu-ray exchange program. Send in the DUD, get a BD.
- BDA to offer a US$10-US$20 per disc 'buy up' for all 'other studio' HD DVD sent into them.
I think these two measures would end it.

Yet we also need to get Universal and Paramount onboard. Without them Blu will never become defacto. Therefore they should be offered a conversion package: US$500million each and a share of future licencing to convert their production facilities. A high price but an essential one if we are to beat DVD methinks.

What does everyone thing? One format to rule them all? Let's do it!
