Default What "old school" Movies From The BDA Studios Do You Want To See On Blu-ray?

There are some old school BDA titles I wanted to see in 1080p.

Ghostbusters I and II - Sony
Angel Heart - Sony
Close Encounters of the Third Kind - Sony
The Craft - Sony
Striptease (Maybe) - Sony
True Lies - Fox
Gremlins - Warner Bros.
Heat - Warner Bros.
Devil's Advocate - Warner Bros.
Hard To Kill - Warner Bros.
Purple Rain - Warner Bros.
Batman - Warner Bros.
Beverly Hills Cop - Paramount
Coming To America - Paramount
Poltergeist - MGM
Abyss - Fox
Harlem Nights - Paramount
Trading Places - Paramount

What about you guys? Do you have any old school movies from the Blu-ray camp you want a see in 1080p?

There's also another older 3rd thread, five movies you want to see in HD

Since the OP of this one specified "Old School" movies in the body of the text, maybe a change of title is in order, while the thread Sidewinder linked starts with: Movies you want to see on Blu ray They can be announced or not ....doesnt matter.

Anyway you have the links for the old threads there.

I would easily add all the 007 movies, even the George Lazenby one.

There were too many of these Bond flicks out on DVD Special Edition with either a Dolby Mono or Dolby Stereo track. It's nice to see on the new DVD collection that every single Broccoli 007 movie now is available in widescreen with a DTS 5.1 track on it. Hear, hear! That's more like it. Previously Die Another Day was the only Bond movie with a DTS track on it.

Default My List

You've all mentioned some great titles that I'd also like to see. Besides the following specific titles I'd also like the Clint Eastwood films, the Hitchcock films, and all the early Bond films.

Ben-Hur (Warner)
Journey to the Center of the Earth (Fox)
Last of the Mohicans (Fox)
Lawrence of Arabia (Sony)
My Fair Lady (Warner)
North by Northwest (Warner)
The Sound of Music (Fox)
The Ten Commandments (Paramount)

I was briefly scanning through Ten Commandments and Ben-Hur yesterday on my new set-up. I thought about how bad DVD looks now that I've gotten spoiled by seeing really good HD transfers in 1080p. Some of these older films are going to look incredible because of the way they were photographed. It will make them look "new" again to me. I can't wait!

Actually, I'd want my old school movies to come with the original Mono, or Stereo, or magnetic 4/6-Track mixes too, and BD has the space for it. A new 5.1 mix, although technically superior, is always a remix, not the original sound design. Even if it was only DolbyDigital it should always be included in addition to the new multichannel mix. I think the new Rocky BD does this.

If I actually knew which studios all the films I'd like to see on BD are from, I'd make a list, but I don't. I wouldn't be sure If they were from BD exclusive studios or not.

EDIT:

Ah, what the heck, here's my list anyway. You all can correct me where you see fit. :

Pulp Fiction
Jackie Brown
Kill Bill 1&2 (all together on 1 disc as 1 film, the way it was intended)
Hard Eight
Boogie Nights
Magnolia
Punch Drunk Love
Blade Runner
Star Wars (original trilogy)
Indiana Jones Trilogy
The X-Files: Fight the Future
Ghost in the Shell
Rebel Without a Cause
Fantasia
2001: A Space Odyssey
Easy Rider
The Odd Couple
Lost in Translation
American Beauty
On the Waterfront
The Grapes of Wrath
La Dolce Vita
A Clockwork Orange
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn
Amadeus
Shine
Jude
Naked
Trois Couleurs (Three Colors Trilogy)
Barcelona
Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down
Dr. No
Octopussy
The Spy Who Loved Me
Moonrayker
Planet of the Apes (original)
The Unbearable Lightness of Being
Purple Rain
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
War Games
The Towering Inferno
The Andromeda Strain
The Doors
Snow White
Mutiny on the Bounty
The Wall
Batman
Being John Malkovich
Weird Science

And just for some variety, how about some classic television miniseries? :

Shogun
I, Claudius
The Bourne Identity
