If they do it will be with SD extras, just about the same as the dvds. I have yet to see any HD extras for older catalog titles (besides hd trailers).

That's a trick question. Based on your TV's viewmode setting you can technically watch any movie you want in fullscreen. However the right answer is no you can't. The reason why you are seeing SP1 in fullscreen is because the aspect ratio of the film is 1.85:1 How much of the movie fills your screen is based on the aspect ratio of the film you're watching.

I guess I'm just spoiled by blu-ray. I haven't really been "WOWED" by anything in a while. |

You'll probably find that SP1 ranks the lowest in terms of PQ out of the 3 movies. That's not to say that the PQ for SP1 is bad. I think it's still a great looking film. Grain is a touchy subject around here. If you do some research on it you'll find that sometimes grain is just a natural part of the filming process and in some cases removing too much of it during the blu-ray transfer is not good for the overall PQ of the film.

Honestly.... I never did understand the hype over the SM trilogy PQ
and (again) honestly... it's nothing to do with grain I just felt the picture never looks particularlly sharp or colourful (except for the odd CGI moment), and really not much of a step up over the (upscaled) DVD's No doubt some idoit will tell me there's something wrong with my set up, or maybe my eyes... but... i have a fairly decent collection of Blu discs now (about 20 movies), and almost all have totally blow me away... However... SM Trilogy, although (as someone already mentioned), each one was slightly better than to one proceeding it... they mostly left me feeling quite disappointed Last edited by Firstborn; 01-31-2008 at 04:40 AM. |

New adaptors always notice the grain. I think we have all been there at some point. But as time passes, one realizes that grain is simply what was seen in the theater. Next time you go see a movie in the theater, take careful note of when you see grain and in what scenes. When you buy the same movie on BD, see how it compares.
