Default PDVD 8 ultra problem (unsupported format)

Okay
I decided to cough up 70 bucks for pdvd8 in the hopes it would allow me to get 7.1 master audio, and every bluray i put in it gives me unsupported format error when it goes to play...

I kept pdvd7 on the machine, and it plays the movies just fine...
is this the DEP issue or something else?

I've experienced the same problem as you and I had both version 8 and 7.3 installed. I had to uninstall both versions completely and then reinstall version 8, which has fixed the problem. I do not know what caused the problem though, but it would seem like 7.3 and 8 cannot co-exist properly. Maybe it was that I launched 7.3 by accident, and then it must have corrupted version 8 or something.

Anyway, hope the above is helpful to you.

figured it out, cyberstink send me the wrong product key
upgraded me to deluxe instead of ultra
sons of *****es

so now I have to wait on a refund, because they don't read English well, and refunded me instead of giving me a proper key...

Seriously, WTF is wrong with companies... i think its just my luck...

Ultra did this to me all by it's self (no other version had ever been installed), so when I emailed Cyberlink, they gave me a secret link (I had to start an account and log in to get to it) which allowed me to download once only a patch that made it work with my Sony BWU-100a drive that it came with.

Kind of weird, but it fixed the problem. The trouble now is my BD is playing back in scrambled orange blocks (with perfect audio). Cyberlink wants me to install some data gathering software to find out what the problem is. We'll see...

that blows... i don't trust them much, I had to ask for a refund, and in the meantime i purchased the correct version again... so they refunded BOTH orders... even though I specifically stated in my refund form which order to cancel... so I had to wait 5 days to get the refund to purchase it again...

when I emailed them telling them they messed up, they copy and pasted a generic answer in the reply... that had NOTHING to do with the situation...
I hate shitty customer service... why can't every company be like zappos.com
