Default HDMI Switch ?

I have my computer and an HDTV tuner hooked up via optical audio to a receiver. The computer is hooked up directly to the monitor via DVI->HDMI and the tuner hooked up directly via component.

I would like to purchase a switch to allow me to hook up my computer and the HDMI out on my tx-sr605 to the switch and then the HDMI out of the switch to the monitor.

The reason I cannot just use the receiver to do this is because the receiver to my knowledge and testing does not support resolutions beyond 1080p and 1920x1200 (the native monitor res) is beyond that.

Thus I am looking for a simple switch that supports greater than 1080p resolutions and non-standard HDTV resolutions (1920x1200 specifically ). Does anyone have any experience in solving this problem or switch suggestions?

How about this?: Monoprice 4x1

Only $40 and it can do up to 1900x1200.

Yes, this is for real, and they are a great company. I know it's hard to believe at the prices, but their quality is absolutely amazing. I've bought all my cables from them for many years.

I saw that one, but don't know if it can do 1920x1200. It doesn't say anywhere on the spec.

Thanks for posting the 4x1 switcher, looks like that is the lowest option of outputing my computer's 1920x1200 unless someone can verify that the 2x1 does it.

You won't believe me - but I purchased a 3x2 HDMI switch, 1.3 compliant, Deep color compliant, 1080p the whole 9 yards for 32 dollars off of Ebay! The catch...The unit comes from China. I don't care if it comes from the North Pole - this baby works! I don't like the credit card remote that much - but hey for a total of 82.00 (that's with shipping - shipping was more than the switch) it was a no brainer! It even passes HDMI audio - well its 1.3 - it's supposed to!

I own it, and it works flawlessly for me, except I couldnt get audio to pass through from my Oppo 981. I have 4 sources go into the switch, 1 out to my tv, and the other out to my receiver, but my Oppo has to go straight into the receiver on the other receiver input. It'll bve nice once I add a projector and dont want to buy a whole nother set of components.

Passing through the high end audio on this would be a bonus for me.

Here's what I'm looking at right now for myself:

Setup A is the home theater. The Yamaha 2700 receiver, the Sony KD34XBR960 and the PS3. As it stands, I have the PS3 routed through the Yamaha for video/audio via HDMI and then HDMI from the receiver to the TV.

Setup B is the computer which includes the NEC 2490wuxi LCD monitor. I've found that I like to game better on my computer setup even with the console. I can sit closer, more comfortably, and I can run things at 1080p/24 and get more resolution. It's an awesome monitor. I even watched a BD on it last night at 1080p/24 and was really blown away with it.

All I want to do is this: I can send the PS3's video to the PC monitor without having to unlug and switch a bunch of things. I want a convenient switching element for these two setups.

The PC connects to that monitor via DVI cable currently. So obviously I'd be looking at some HDMI-DVI cables if I get one of the following switchers:

http://www.ramelectronics.net/audio-...dGEF00168.html

Gefen 2x2 HDMI Switcher With IR Remote Control, EXT-HDMI-242

OR

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

4X2 True Matrix HDMI 1.3a Powered Switch w/ Remote Controller (Rev. 2.0)

^^ This one is a bit cheaper than the Gefen but I almost wonder if there's a "you get what you pay for" situation here or not. There's a rather large thread on AVS, for one, where I see all kinds of tales of woe and bugaboos.

I don't care about running both displays at the same time. Some day down the road I see myself upgrading my TV and I'm sure that will be an HDMI 1.3 set by the time I do. The Monorpice seems to have the edge on "specs on paper" in that regard.

These are the only two devices I've run across with reasonable prices. I'm a little concerned about some of the hiccups and issues I've read across forums about "HDMI matrix switches." Anyone have any experiences with either of these? Should I be considering something else? All thoughts appreciated.

EDIT: If my receiver had two HDMI outputs instead of 1 then all my problems would be solved.
