Default Woody Allen films ?'s

Just watched Vicky Cristina Barcelona on Blu,pretty good Woody flick,I liked Scoop and Match Point as well, his BBC stuff,I've noticed every Woody DVD,Blu or whatever has MONORAL sound, even the newer releases, like Vicky,it's 3.1 mono! Has he ever made a movie in stereo, plus the studio never puts ANY special features on them, save for the occasional tralier,I guess that's why Annie Hall(Best Picture 1977) has never gotten the special edition treatment. I dont think he's ever done an audio commentary, just like Spielberg and Eastwood.

Woody does things his own way--for good or bad.

None of his films have every recieved a Special Edition treatment. You are lucky to get a trailer sometimes.

Woody was asked years ago about supplements, and he seemed puzzled by the whole concept. While he's probably up to speed now, I doubt he would participate in them, making extras kinda pointless

As said above, he does things his own way

It's a little frustrating but with Mr. Allen I take what I can get.

Faithful transfers of Annie Hall and Manhattan sporting uncompressed mono would do just fine. The sooner the better.

A classic!

Really, anything he directed through the mid-80's is an instant purchase for me. Zelig, Love and Death, Take The Money And Run, Radio Days, Bananas, Stardust Memories...

I'm ready to empty the wallet, Woody. Bring it.

Woody prefers that his movies be released barebones; he'd rather let the movies speak for themselves.

Yeah, there's basically no hope for any special features, but whatever, he's made countless masterpieces. I'll take that over some commentary any day.

Now if we can get them on Blu Ray!

No kidding, the only DVD available doesn't just have sub par picture quality, but it isn't even anamorphic widescreen. And I think the menu screen even has scratches and specks on it.

Id like to see Manhattan, Love and Death, and Hannah and her Sisters at the
top of the list along with Sleeper. Hope we start seeing the older releases on
BD soon.

I wish Allen would watch the special features documentary for "Prince of
the City". Sidney Lumet peels back the layers of his work, its like going to film
school.
