Default What's the holdup on the review?

I keep coming back to this site to check on the official review for Beowulf. But alas... days merge into two full weeks and still no review. Over 20 other reviews later, a lot of which are pretty odd review material if you ask me, and still no Beowulf. Greg! Martin! Lindsay! Someone!

Are you guys (and gal) ignoring this one on purpose? Do you experience stomach pain at the thought of spending time watching it? Is it REALLY that bad? I did see it in the theater and liked it... but I am curious about PQ/AQ and extras.

Let me encourage you. People are waiting for it... ok... I'm waiting for it.

Thanks

Every review I've read elsewhere states that just like the HD DVD, the PQ is fantastic and the Dolby TrueHD soundtrack blows the 1.5mbps soundtrack on the HD DVD out of the water...

On a related note, it would be great if there was more consistency in the reviews of the new releases especially those that we are on the fence about.

I'm not quite sure what you're referring to but, I actually don't care much about the review of the movie itself. I get plenty of that kind of info from sites like Rotten Tomatoes, but when I decide to get a flick, I'm interested to know whether it's worth it to get it in Blu-ray or not. This site is my main source for that info. In terms of consistency, maybe you can look at other reviews done by the individual reviewer to get a basis of comparison. (Comparing, say a Martin review with other reviews he has done.)

I generally review Warner titles. If I had the screener for Beowulf, I'd do it as would any of the other reviewers. Keep in mind, studios are still uneven in getting screeners to us in a timely manner. We do make an effort to get reviews done prior to release date whenever possible and I think we're improving on this.

I'll get on this title tomorrow. I was going to do it today, but a HUGE title came in today that needs my immediate attention. It's a grade-A PRIME title that most everyone is excited about!

Why not just buy a copy and review it?

Why buy when you may get it for free? Someone live near them that can loan 'em a copy?

yes, I think Universal scores their UPCs(sometimes)....but they come complete just like a store

but an official reviewer from here can verify how they get films, but with any commercial sample, they just dont want you reselling them

Question on this review- I thought you guys were going to start using 1080p screenshots? I know it was mentioned earlier.

Anyway, great review on Transformers and it really gets me psyched to get this title in my collection.
