My setup is HDCP-compliant so I wont have noticed if my discs are HDCP or not.
I'm just curious, are any Blu-ray discs actually flagged to enforce the use of HDCP yet and if so, is there a list of them online? |

As long as it's an HDMI connection and the ICT is NOT set, it should be able to do 1080p. Which is why I was asking if it's in use yet? |

BDA and the studios are trying to get people to migrate to BD. Evoking it right now will not be wise. fuad |

There's sort of a "gentlemen's agreement" not to implement the ICT flag on titles till around 2012. Given that HDCP is about the weakest protection used on Blu-ray discs, I'm not real convinced that it will be universally enabled then (Fox seems likely to use it, though).
Also, just to clarify what the ICT flag will do (for those that don't know), it will limit Blu-ray resolution to 1/4 resolution (960x540p) over analog outputs, and only allow full resolution (1920x1080p) over HDCP protected digital outputs. Since 960x540p isn't an actual resolution used on HDTVs, the player will either need to upscale that resolution or further downsample to 480p for output. But, yeah, as WriteSimply said, you'll definitely know when and if a studio implements ICT on a major title as there will be an outcry against it. Ironically, the outcry will be mainly from HD DVD "supporters" even though their format had the same protection. |
