'Zulu' (Paramount) on 3 Nov - hope it's better than their UK DVD! - Blu-ray Forum

Paramount will be releasing 'Zulu' on BD in the UK on November 3rd. However, although this is a favourite film of mine, I have serious doubts that this will be worth buying. Paramount's UK DVD release back in 2002 was a very poor transfer - far too dark and the colour timing looked dubious as well. The US DVD release on MGM was far superior. So I just hope that Paramount's BD release will show a vast improvement over their non-starter of a DVD.

This title was restored and transferred to HD in co-operation with Sky TV (along with the other Michael Caine Classic "The Italian Job"). If the Blu-ray is anything like the version shown on Sky Movies HD, then it will be a treat. It should however be better as it will be 1080P/24 rather than Sky HDs 1080i/50.

I have this on pre-order. I eagerly await the other title... in some respects even more so!!

That's good news Kirsty. Now I just have to hope that it will be an all-region BD, as I have a US BD player! I think Paramount's BDs are normally all-region, so it should be OK.

I've never heard of or seen a Paramount BD region coded, so it will be OK.

I've never seen this film yet... so I may import this one as long as it will play in the U.S. :-)
